Most portfolio templates look impressive in Figma but suffer in production from heavy JavaScript bundles, client-side rendering flashes, and fragile deployment setups. For this platform, the architectural goal was strict: full server-side rendering for instant page paints, sub-second TTFB, and zero-compromise interactive hardware simulators.

#1. The TanStack Start SSR Paradigm

TanStack Start provides full SSR with Nitro under the hood while retaining type-safe file-based routing. Data loaders execute on the server, generating static HTML with zero client-side layout shifts. Route transitions stream via React 19 concurrent features, eliminating the waterfall requests typical of traditional single-page apps.

Treat page loads as documents first and applications second. Deliver semantic, accessible markup on first paint, then hydrate interactive instruments on demand.

#2. Design System Architecture with Tailwind CSS v4

Migrating to Tailwind CSS v4 enabled us to define design tokens directly in native CSS `@theme` layers using OKLCH perceptual color spaces. This guarantees accessible contrast ratios across dark slate surfaces (`#020617`) and neon instrument accents without any runtime CSS-in-JS style injection overhead.

  • Nitro server engine executing server functions for contact form delivery and AI chat proxying
  • Supabase PostgreSQL with Row Level Security (RLS) for telemetry logs and private CMS management
  • Dynamic code-splitting separating heavy Web Audio DSP and HTML5 canvas engines from text routes
  • Production SSR pipeline optimized for Accessibility, Core Web Vitals, and SEO
